Firstly, I re-sized the cover image to fit the page. Following this I added my masthead, Sniper, choosing a font I felt was appropriate, which i found front a website from dafont.com. As you can see the mast head covers my models head, i didn't want this so i had to find a way around this. I coloured in her nails by using the paint brush tool, because i didn't like the colour of her nails, as it didnt match the colour scheme i was going for.

I wanted the image of Georgia to overlap with the masthead slightly and so opened the same picture again in another document and cut around her head using the magnetic lasso tool. I took me quite a while, but after many attempts i finally done it. The rest of the image was cut out and carefully placed on top of the other identical photo of Georgia. After cutting out the image, I used the eraser tool on a thick, blurred brush to soften the edges around her head.

I then added a strapline at the top of the page using a red rectangle with text ontop of it. I then added a thin black rectangle underneath it. This clearly seperates the strapline with the background and also gives a professional look. I decided to then add another red rectangle at the bottom with text on top with bands that will be inside the magazine. I made the 'plus' with a black rectangle because i wanted that to stand out the most and look professional, and have a unique edge. I then put a black distorted notpad on the side, which was inspired by Kerrang magazine. I put my model on top and i have 'win' in red so it stands out and catches the audiances eyes, also it goes really well with my models hair.

Next, I began to add text. Firstly, I added the main coverline as it related to the image and so needed to stand out in comparison to other text. I added a rectangular shape and used the eyedropper tool to make it the same colour as a section on Georgia's lips. I added effects to the text to make it look more interesting, helping the magazine to grab the attention of my target audience. By having some text with a red rectangular background, and some text not it adds quirkyness and makes it unique. And also using differen't sized font makes it interesting and loud.

I added one more coverline to the cover, i used white as its not as important then the other coverline, i also didn't add a red rectangular background. Finally i added the final features which is a pug and a barcode. I created my pug by using the shape tool and adding text ontop of it, i also added a black cirle underneath the white one to give it more of a shadowing effect. I also got the blur tool so it merged together and look professional.
